Morning Tumblr! Today we’re celebrating World autism awareness day with our Monday morning post. In the last two decades there has been a steady increase in the prevalence of autism globally. Some people talk of it as an epidemic, with statistics estimating as many as one in 100 people are affected. We have a series of photographs are of students at the MacIntyre residential school in Wingrave, Buckinghamshire, for young people with severe learning disabilities, including autism. Reblog to make more people aware of autism.

The Times executive editor Jill Abramson has said in a statement:

Anthony died as he lived — determined to bear witness to the transformation sweeping the Middle East and to testify to the suffering of people caught between government oppression and opposition forces.

I posit a simple position. I assert that an ideology: neo-conservatism (which took hold Post-WW2) disproportionally benefited the established wealthy and powerful & required a broader control of the news media which insights long-term changes in public thought. Neo-conservatism was a reaction to moral relativism, the same moral relativism recognized by Qutb in Colorado, by Marx in London, etc. It is a devaluation of religious morals from the context of economic liberalism.

Your statement that the US has been terrorizing the world for 200 years is bogus. We really began to intervene internationally in the early 1900s, but our true role as “world terrorizer (or a global superpower - depending on your scope), emerged after Europe was devastated World War. The emergence of the neo-conservative ideology established the logical justification for American intervention abroad. The crux of its execution established a greater need for large media conglomerates owned and operated by a few individuals. Fox News, perhaps the most iconic of this, perpetuates this conservative & neo-conservative interpretation of philosophy, economics, and politics.

What this all means is simple: in the search of a perpetuation of power, a small fringe element within American politics grew quite radically and simply, employing techniques that utilized emotion: fear and anger, and eventually blinded many. The process is disillusion of the majority of people towards progressive values and views, which created cognitive dissonance and allowed for a more easy conversion to the professed values & platform of the neo-conservative movement.

A small fringe element hijacked American values, and used them as a cloak for political gain. Just as a small fringe element of Islam, hijacked the religion, and used it as a cloak for political gain.

I’d argue that this is the inevitability of an unbalanced world model.

Politicalprof: The Son is not the Father

Politicalprof: The Son is not the Father:
politicalprof:
